August 4, 2011

It was a cloudy night,
or so it looked to me,
I felt so lost,
I couldn’t say why
I built this cloud to live in,
It was a bunch of lies in my mind.
The world wants me to believe it
so I had to change my mind
It was a darkness all my own
a song played on the radio,
it went straight to my heart
I carried it with me until the darkness was gone.

Yesterday was pretty much one of the most perfect days I’ve had in a long, long time. I woke up with Trout, with sunshine pouring through the sky light window. Rasputin bumbled in to say good morning and then we all got up and had breakfast. We popped onto a train (Rasputin stayed at home, he had things to do) and shortly we ended up in Kingston. My home town. We had amazing sandwiches and sat by the river and the swans came to say hello. Then we went to Banquet Records to see one of my favourite bands play an in-store. Such a sweet, honest set. The afternoon sped by in a whirl of friends and beer and picnic benches. Rushing back into London to see the same band play one of my top ten favourite albums live, from start to finish. Just amazing. And I got to catch up with one of my favourite people
