Fresh

August 20, 2011

This afternoon I took a walk into town to visit the newly opened Thorne’s Foods. Filled to the brim with locally-sourced fruit and vegetables, freshly baked bread, olives, meat, cheese, as well as everything you need for some inspiring baking, nuts and seeds, flours, grains and special treats! The store is beautiful and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. If you’re not in the mood for cooking yourself, they also have a wonderful cafe & restaurant upstairs.

The store is open from 9.30am until 8.30pm during the week. The cafe is open until 7pm during the week, and 10pm on Friday and Saturdays. No. 39, Upper Gardner Street, Brighton BN1 4AN.

After some shopping in town I fixed myself a huge salad, with those trusty edamame beans which I’ve been craving, left-over dahl, lettuce, tomato, carrot and pepper sticks and a couple of olives.

This afternoon I think I will do some drawing, and I bought some paint in my favourite shades, so I think I’ll spend some time with my sketchbook.

What are your plans for the weekend?
