Crossing through the lines

January 28, 2012

Back in the first few days of January I wrote a little list of things which I wanted to achieve during the month. I still have 4 days left to cross everything off my list, so let’s see what I have left to do –

January Ideas:

Save money for the various trips which I have planned – Well, I bought the tickets for one of these trips!
Skype with Laia more often – Yes!
– Write letters to friends – Nope. BUT I have been sending a few parcels ♥
– Bake 4 new recipes. Specifically dinner recipes. – No…
– Blog more frequently – I’m not sure exactly my average, but I would prefer to be blogging every 2 – 3 days
– Spend an afternoon in a coffee shop with a good book, relaxing and enjoying the calm
Spend more time with my family – This is planned for the weekend!

Not too shabby actually! I haven’t managed to write any letters but I have sent a few parcels to people, which has been fun. I do plan on writing more letters and keeping in touch with friends more often. The dinner thing has kind of gone out of the window. Mr T was away for half of January and I am so lazy to cook when I’m alone. I relied on dinners which could be rustled up in a mere ten minutes, and which mostly involved broccoli. I’ve cooked a few things in the last week or so but nothing new that I can think of. My list of bookmarked recipes is ever-expanding but my patience and inspiration for time spent in the kitchen has not improved, and I’m not entirely sure when the spark will come back. We’ll just have to wait and see.

I discovered a wonderful new coffee shop, enjoyed an afternoon of coffee and sharing a slice of lime, passionfruit and coconut cake at Infinity with Mr T and have spent afternoons saving my pennies and sipping a homemade mug with Rasputin. I’ve been skyping with Laia more frequently, planning more trips and organising our holiday!

Here is my wish list for the following month –

February Ideas:

– Bake 4 new recipes. Let’s give this another try, shall we!
– Write more letters and send more parcels
– Look for new jobs and oppurtunities
– Save money for America
– Continue blogging more frequently
– Read more books
– Organise our 10 year Anniversary celebrations ♥
– Write all of the articles I’ve been meaning to write.

January has been kind of a busy, and somewhat crazy, month – lots of changes, but hopefully all for the best and these changes will bring new opportunities! I want to say thank you so much for all your tweets, facebook messages and emails, it really means a lot to have such thoughtful support from so many people around me. It’s still a bit of an uncertain time but I’m feeling quite positive for the future and grateful to have met so many brilliant people through my current job! It’s really helped me to settle into Brighton life and given me the confidence to apply for jobs which I might not have done before.

Sounds like you’ve been doing wonderfully :-) I’m off to Brighton in a couple of weeks for a few days and can’t wait to hit Infinity!

It’s so wonderful to tick things/cross things off a list.

I can’t wait to check out Infinity when I visit Brighton in May!
