Valentine’s Day Gifts

February 4, 2012

Valentine’s Day is pretty much my favourite day of the year. Apart from our Anniversary. And Christmas. And my birthday. And his birthday. OK so apart from a handful of other days, Valentine’s Day is a very nice indeed.

Heart-shaped items fill almost every store, you have an excuse to rustle up a romantic meal, there are candles, chocolate, maybe some fizz and plenty of kisses. I ♥ it. Last year we ordered pizza from Pizzaface and they arrived HEART-SHAPED! I also ordered a box of four cupcakes from Angel Food Bakery; carrot cake with vanilla frosting and red sugar paste hearts.
It’s fast approaching, but don’t panic – there are still 10 days to go, so plenty of time to select something special for your crush!

Hotel Chocolat have a really strong range of vegan friendly products to choose from all year round, but for Valentine’s Day it has to be their classic hearts or some sexy smudge!

Dark Chocolate Precious Heart, £6.50

Chocolate Spread

Classic Smudge Chocolate Spread, £6

Moo Free offer some of the creamiest chocolate on the market, so for something special you can pick up some of their pralines. Check the website for stockists details in your area, or where you can purchase online.

Montezumas have some of the friendliest and knowledgeable staff on the high street, and offer a selection box of their finest vegan truffles. If you pop instore the staff can point out which of their cabinet are suitable and you can put your own choice together – or leave it to their trusted hands!

£11.99 for 16 truffles.

If you fancy a quiet night in, how about you pick up a few things from Paperchase to add a bit of colour to the evening!

Heart Snack Bowl, £4
Sweet Heart Cherry Bubble Bath, £6
Cherry Bath Roses, £4
Love Cookie Stamp, £4

The go-to for gifts, Lush have brought out some great sets for Valentine’s Day, as well as smaller items to pamper your crush with.

Lots of Love, £24.50

Urban Outfitters have some really sweet gifts so show that special someone just how thoughtful you are:

Just please – PLEASE – don’t buy your true love this card. Even for comedy value. Even if it’s true. Just don’t.

Now I need to go eat some chocolate – your post inspired me to indulge :) I think men can be so hard to buy for – the last thing my husband wants is another pair of novelty boxer shorts or an electronic gizmo (he’s gotten his share of those after 5 years of marriage). I love the key trays by the design pallet ( they are made with reclaimed lumber, and are masculine without being gimmicky. It’s something he will actually use. They are sold through an etsy shop – Great blog post! Thanks for all the delicious ideas.
