We’re changing the way the water flows

April 4, 2012

On Sunday evening I met with a few friends for dinner at Pho. It was a really nice evening, and we were well catered for in terms of vegan options. The server was super helpful and advised which dishes we could order – I had summer rolls to start, which were so yummy. You can choose between sweet chilli sauce or peanut dipping sauce, and both are seriously delicious. For my main course I chose Bun Chay – the base of the bowl is lined with cold rice noodles, then layered with fresh herbs, carrot and crisp lettuce, and topped with fluffy balls of tofu and button mushrooms, as well as a deep fried spring roll. On the side is a cup of sauce which you pour over the bowl and mix everything up. The combination of flavours and textures are so good!

These are from Mr T’s birthday – the amazing sandwiches are from The Terrace, and words cannot describe how delicious they are. I always opt for the vegetarian Med on rustic brown bread. Lashings of fresh houmous, roasted red pepper, rocket, olives and fresh basil. I think it’s the basil that makes this sandwich completely perfect – and the doorstep size of them! We sat by the river and hung out with the swans, the sun was shining and it was just perfect. I love returning to Kingston, it’s my soulmate-town. I was born in Kingston hospital, and we lived a short drive from Richmond Park until I was 6 years old. I remember going to the park at the weekend with our dog, driving past bunny rabbits and walking past deer.
I returned at age 21 for art school, and always love going back for little trips. The charity shops, the coffee shops, the river, the sandwich shop, the health food shops. It’s such a sweet place.

My neck of the woods! And I’ve never had sandwiches from The Terrace – must rectify that – they look delicious.
