I’ve had a little absence recently from twitter and paperbagblog. I didn’t really intend or mean to be away for quite so many days, sometimes you just need to breathe and take a step back from everything. The past week or so has been a little strange and I’m still trying to figure things out and organise my head (impossible task). I have a ton of photographs and little things to update though, so I will hopefully be posting more over the long weekend and showing you what I’ve been up to.

Here are a couple of photographs of a lovely evening me and Mr T spent last week or so. We went out to an amazing Greek restaurant for dinner – I love having date nights ♥

I wore one of my favourite items of clothing: a cream oversized ‘silk’ shirt, with skinny jeans and black patent loafers. I had to be super careful not to spill anything on the pure shirt, but I managed to leave the table without dropping my meal down myself!

In terms of my resolutions for May – let’s just draw a big line through those, shall we! Safe to say I achieved very little in terms of my aims, but (and I must always remember the but) (that’s what she said) I did manage to complete a few things which I didn’t plan to. I applied for a voluntary position with a charity which runs a drop in centre for women who have been victim to sexual abuse. I attended a group interview, which was quite intense and nerve-wracking, even though the two women that run the centre are absolutely amazing, as were the other ladies who I was interviewing with – but I was being judged on my performance and my responses! I was so happy when I received the email yesterday letting me know that I had been successful. It’s a completely different journey and learning curve for me – and this isn’t to say that I’ll even be successful in completing the training programme and becoming a permanent volunteer, but it’s a step-forward which I’m really excited about.
The move to the new office was a success, and I’m so much happier in this brighter, cleaner space which is in the centre of the Laines, 3 minutes walk from my house, and with a great bunch of people. It’s strange seeing a much broader perspective of the company, as I watch all of the things that had previously been almost behind-the-scenes.
I received a copy of Chickpea Magazine, which I blogged about previously, which includes an article that I wrote. We also had a BBQ on the beach, which was so lovely.

June brings a lot of very exciting things. Too many gigs to even keep track of. The start of my training with the centre. More planning and organising for our big America Roadtrip, which is fast approaching in 3 months time! I want to start being a bit more creative this month – more crafts, some drawing, sketchbooks etc. Of course, saving money is still on the agenda. I started the month off with a brief spending-spree but now I’ve stocked up on summer shoes and movies I’m all set for some quiet nights in and the only expenses I can really foresee are the usual food-shops and nights out. I’m not really drinking at the moment, so this is saving me a few pennies, and am trying to be mindful of whether I need to buy certain (pricier) foods or whether I can survive on either cheaper alternatives, or go without. I’m going to view a friends’ MA exhibition at Slade soon, which I’m so proud and excited to go to. She’s worked incredibly hard and I can’t wait to see her new work. I still really want to try yoga, so maybe this month I will buy a DVD and have a go at home. Can anyone recommend a beginners-type DVD?

I’ve got a couple of other posts which I’ve drafted that show more of what I’ve been up to for the past week or so. Sorry for my little absence, but sometimes you just need to give yourself a break and some time. I’ve been reading your blogs though, and will try and catch up with commenting this weekend ♥

    Hope you’re okay sweetie, I’ve missed having you around ‘virtually’ but I can appreciate the need for space and to focus on the ‘reality’ more sometimes. I know we’ve only met in person once but if you ever need to talk about well, anything really, I am right here. I am a good listener and I’ve been told I can give good advice too ;)
    You look absolutely beautiful in that shirt! And I agree about resolutions – they’re a nice idea and maybe a good thing in the short term, but I don’t think they’re a good thing to have things set in stone…it’s better just to have ‘loose plans’ and ‘ideas’ so you aren’t hard on yourself if you don’t achieve them :)
    It would be great if you could show some of your creative stuff you might do this month, I love seeing other people’s work!! :)

      I missed you too! The break was good though, I don’t think I’ll be spending as much time online as I was before, but I’ll still be popping in and out and of course I will be checking your blog!

    Glad your ok, and lovely to hear from you again. Your volunteering sounds amazing! Looking gorgeous in that shirt as well, oh and I’m trying not to be jealous hearing about where you work and live, I’d LOVE to live in the middle of Brighton. Take care and have a great weekend!

      Thanks darling :) I feel really lucky to be living where we are, and I’m still in love with our flat almost 2 years later! Am loving the new location xx

    Hey hon – I have a yoga DVD that I didn’t really get on with (it’s kinda hard to hold poses AND watch tv!!) it got some good reviews on amazon though. Would you like it? It’s called Shiva Rea Yoga for beginners. DM me your address if you likee and I will sender :-)
