Weekend of warmth

I had such a lovely day yesterday! It was so nice to have such a jam-packed day, with people that I love, doing fun things. Me and Mr T set off in the morning and got the train to London. We spent the morning and early afternoon enjoying some retail therapy – I stocked up on roasted chickpeas (which I can’t get in Brighton, for some silly reason!) but apart from that didn’t really find anything that took my fancy. I always make sure I visit the shops that we unfortunately don’t have in Brighton; Muji, Monki and Uni Qlo, but nothing really caught my eye. Muji have stopped stocking my favourite notebook which I was super disappointed about, but really hoping that I can find it again soon!

We had a brilliant lunch at Tortilla followed by our first visit to Scoop for some vegan sorbet. Yum! No photographs of my lunch unfortunately but I had a Naked Burrito, which is a bowl of lettuce, rice, beans, roasted peppers and onions, salsa and guacamole, and a side of tortilla chips. So good! At Scoop I went for pineapple and strawberry sorbet.

We saw a busker with a cat! Apparently he has been in the paper recently as the guy has written a book about the cat. He had a lot of problems with drug addiction and was quite desperate to make a clean break but never really found the strength. One day the cat started following him everywhere – even onto buses! Eventually he realised that he needed to look after the cat and that kept him strong. What a brilliant story! So cute, the cat can even high five!

After our little shopping spree we headed to Euston to meet up with a couple of friends and go to see the MA Fine Art show at Slade, which was brilliant. A friend was exhibiting and I’m so excited and proud of her work, it really stood out from the rest of the other pieces. After the show we headed to a couple of pubs in the Tottenham Court Road/ Soho area for a few pints and grabbed a quick dinner at Govinda’s.

Once we had re-fueled we walked to Bourne and Hollingsworth for a few more drinks – all of their cocktails are so delicious and come in the most amazing cups, jars and glasses! I’ve heard great things about this place for a few years now but never managed to get round to paying a visit – I’m so glad we finally went!

All in all a cracking day! Today I’ve taken it quite easy, with a lie-in until 9am (!!!) followed by coffee and The Office US in bed with Mr T, a gorgeous breakfast of vanilla soya yoghurt, fresh fruit and a little cereal on top or crunch, and then a trip into town to stock up on a few things for the house. After lunch I cleaned the whole flat and now I’m sat with a lovely bottle of Czech lager and waiting for the football to start. I hope you all had a lovely weekend! We were so lucky with the weather yesterday, it was so nice to be strolling around in the warmth rather than running from pub to pub!

We also found out this morning that we are Auntie and Uncle for the 2nd time! Mr T’s sister gave birth to a little girl just before 7am this morning, congratulations Jenny!! No name yet, but I cannot wait to meet and give her a little cuddle!

I chose it mainly for the fact that it came in a jar, haha! It was delicious though!
