Dippy Vegg & Soldiers

June 23, 2012

Saturday morning is the best time of the week to experiment with breakfast. Mid-week I tend to stick to my favourites; simple combinations that start the day properly. This morning we decided it was finally time to experiment with The Vegg.

It comes in a powder form – smaller than breadcrumbs. You mix this with water and pulse in a blender – stick your head in, you won’t believe how much this smells like egg!

Pour it into a saucepan and heat gently over a low heat. Pop a couple of slices of bread into your toaster and prepare your vegg cups.

Dish up, pop a soldier into your cup of vegg and enjoy the slow start to the day. Brilliant!

You need to make up the whole packet in one go, and it makes a lot. We have de-cantered ours into an icecube tray and popped it into the freezer, so that we can use a bit at a time. I want to try french toast, and to use it in baking something sweet over the weekend. We bought ours from Vx for £5.99 – I recommend picking up some Clif Builders Bars and plenty of Luna bars with your order!

It doesn’t look too appetising, but I am tempted!

I have to say that doesn’t do it for me! I think its a good idea though, and glad you liked it!
