My apprehension got me nowhere

June 24, 2012

This weekend has been mostly made up of the following –

On Friday evening we picked up some curries from the deli at Taj – they are so delicious, and cost half the price of getting one delivered but taste twice as good as most takeaways. We had chana masala and vegetable curry, with some chilli naan breads and a spicy potato ball. We like things hot! Accompanied with one of my favourite beers; Budvar.
On Saturday morning we experimented with Vegg, and I made some lemon and blueberry polenta cupcakes with a lemon drizzle icing. I used some of the egg mixture and they came out super fluffy! In the afternoon I went to the library, picked up a few books and then stopped by the Chinese supermarket to get a few things for dinner. We made our own version of a chinese takeaway, which included ‘duck’ pancakes, sweet and sour ‘chicken’ balls and some spring rolls. Mr T made some home-made sweet and sour sauce and I chopped up a couple of the cups that I use at the soup-run to give it that authentic take-away feel. Very healthy (!!!). It was a super fun dinner, washed down with some beers from Peru and the football.
Today Mr T has gone to Silverstone to do some driving, so I tried out the yoga DVD that the wonderful Mel from Toxic Vegan sent me last week. I found it really relaxing and felt very calm afterwards. Looking forward to doing this more regularly! Today I don’t have too many plans; I have the DVDs which I bought at the beginning of the month to watch, and then there is the football this evening! As I have about 27p to my name I will be watching it at home with Rasputin, cheering on England!

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! What have you been up to? Have you ever tried yoga?

I love the Redwoods mock duck – it tastes great straight out of the packet! And we buy huge packets of pancakes from the Chinese supermarket and save them in the freezer for when we need them :)
