You moved like honey in my dream last night

July 7, 2012

I’m having a pretty good day, so far! I woke up early, around 7am, and lay in bed playing with Rasputin before making a much-needed coffee and heading back to bed to catch up with tweets and emails. Around 9am I dragged myself out of bed, brushed my teeth and made myself two slices of toast with beautiful home-made strawberry jam and an episode of Sex and the City. Perfect start to the weekend!

Once I had scrubbed up and gotten myself showered, dressed, hair and make up done I popped into town to browse the sales. I bought a lot, for me! Usually I can only ever buy a couple of things when I’m shopping, but I went a little mad today! I took some photographs, but Mr T has taken our camera lead with him to Silverstone, d’oh! So photographs will have to wait. I’m excited to wear my new purchases, which include a beautiful See by Chloe dress which I bought in the sale for less than a 3rd of the original price! Also picked up some t-shirts and a cute playsuit. I might even take some outfit photographs this afternoon.

After I was shopped out I headed to my favourite cafe for lunch – Iydea. Everything is vegetarian, and labelled vegan and gluten free, and there is so much choice. You can’t go wrong though, all the food tastes so fresh and delicious. Usually I opt for a mixed salad but I decided to choose a garlic mushroom roti, with potato, walnut, apple and celery salad, and beetroot and lentil salad, with a blob of houmous and salsa on the side. I had to get my favourite smoothie too – Strawberry Diva! Delicious!

I sat alone, reading Stylist and enjoying my food. It was nice to spend some alone time in my favourite cafe. After lunch I popped in to say hello to a lovely friend who works nearby, and then went to Aldi in search of bargain fruit! I picked up a punnet of strawberries and a punnet of cherries, as well as a box of pecan granola, yum! I got the 3 items for £3.37! Brilliant! I’m looking forward to breakfast tomorrow, and combining all three items with Alpro pouring yogurt ♥.

The rest of the afternoon will probably involve a movie, maybe some crafting, some reading, more coffee drinking and maybe some more photography. I have to be careful with how much time I spend on my laptop, as me and Mr T only have one laptop charger and he has also taken it with him! I am currently on 46% and that has to last me until tomorrow evening! Eek! I hope that everyone is enjoying the weekend, even if the weather is a little miserable. Hopefully the sun will shine soon!

Have you bought any items from Aldi? What do you think about shopping there? Have you bought anything in the sales?

Awww sounds like you’re having a lovely day girly, even though you are missing Mr T <3 I would LOVE to go to Iydea one day – your lunch looks so yum and that smoothie sounds like my kind of drink (says the girl who gets drunk on strawberry daquiris…:P)

I've never been to Aldi but after hearing Laura talk about the bargains it sounds better than it appears to be! Fortunately for me I can get loads of cheap fruit and veg at the market here though..and even cheaper because I have made friends with the vendors hehe ;) Pecan granola sounds delicious though!

I can confirm that the pecan (and maple!!) granola is AMAZING! I will be making a return visit to Aldi – the cherries were perfectly sweet and delicious. I also L O V E strawberry daiquiris! When you visit Brighton I will definitely take you to Iydea :)

I love Aldi’s Super 6, absolutely fantastic! They also do a lovely 85% dark chocolate… yummy.

I do love Aldi and Lidl. I don’t shop there as often as I should.
