There was a love affair in this building

Well, that was an interesting weekend!

The weekend started wonderfully; a lie in, a relaxing morning with Trout, breakfast in bed and then packing our bags for a weekend at one of my best friends’ houses ♥
On their home-made bbq (!!!) we cooked veggie burgers, ‘chicken’ skewers and sausages, and munched on home-made potato wedges, salads, coleslaw and other snacks. We danced along to Meatloaf, played a 3-legged race and other ridiculous games, before ending the night with a film shown on a huge projector in the garden, munching on tortilla chips and sipping strawberry daiquiri in the moonlight. I felt fine, if a little sleepy, once I retired to bed (the first to go, as per usual!) and tucked myself into bed. At around 6am I woke up feeling a little queasy, went to the toilet, and promptly passed out, knocking myself unconscious and barricading myself into the toilet! It took Trout and another (male) friend to break into the room, where they found me shaking, and I was out for a good few minutes.
I don’t really remember too much from this point – I know I went to A&E in an ambulance with Trout, and was sick a number of times. When I got to the hospital I didn’t know what day it was, what we had done the day before, what film we had watched. Quite strange. I had a number of tests, including a CT scan, before being allowed home. I went to see my doctor yesterday morning and she advised that when I fell and knocked myself unconscious this caused the shaking, rather than having a fit. I need to rest up and take it easy – which isn’t really an option as I ache all over, am bruised and can’t even shower myself! Trout’s been amazing – helping me stand up, get into bed, cooking me meals, making me coffee. I don’t know what I would do without him!

While I’m off work I’m going to do some more preparations for America, including trying to find an affordable hotel for us to stay in while we’re in New York (they are so expensive!!) and book Rasputin into the vets for his yearly jabs. I have ordered a new bikini from ASOS which will hopefully arrive in a couple of days, and I think I’ll get a couple of other pieces for the trip. I can’t bring too many clothes though, as we have an internal flight and therefore are limited on space.

I want to thank everyone who has sent me a message, email, tweet and text – it really means a lot. Thank you ♥

Gosh, I hope you are ok now! Question is – how came you felt so queasy that you passed out? Does this happen to you more often? Nice that you can hurl yourself into preperation for your U.S. trip. How long are you going? And are you taking Rasputin?

Thanks lovely – I don’t know why it happened, the hospital and doctor’s are inclined to put it down to alcohol, just hoping it doesn’t happen again!

We’re going to America for 3 weeks in September – so excited! Rasputin will be having a little holiday in a cattery :)

I think it was probably more scary for Trout, as it took quite a long time for me to regain consciousness, and I kept coming in and out…! Thanks lovely xx
