This house was established in 1922

This weekend has been just wonderful, and seemed to stretch on for days which is just brilliant. I spent Friday evening with two of my best friends, having a total girly night in. We had an Uncle Sams, ate sweet & salty popcorn, made churros (!!!), watched Sex and the City and talked about fannies. It was lovely. I also got to spend most of the night snuggling up to Parky, Vicky’s brilliant kitty.

Laia booked her flights this weekend, to come and see me for my birthday, and I cannot tell you how excited this makes me. She’s coming for 4 days, and I really can’t wait. I started going through all of the many (many) photographs of us, and all of the ridiculous things that we get up to. This is the girl who applies her lipstick in the mirror of a cop car. She’s awesome.

We’ve known each other for six years, and met at University. We lived in the same building at halls and were enrolled onto the same course.

We had an amazing tapas night in your flat, our first exhibition together, our first flat together (complete with sex chain), and the Arty Farty Tony Harty Party. Dancing to Johnny Cash, having breakfast and listening to Ella Fitzgerald, playing Jenny Owen Youngs on repeat. All the coffee at Cheapy Cheapo.

Going to Portobello Market in the sunshine, visiting the Spanish supermarket and buying bravas sauce, and stocking up on potato spices at The Spice Shop. Lunch on the Bustaurant with my sister ♥

Spending evenings in front of the sofa, watching Sex and the City & Friends. Too many cocktails in East London and running around Brick Lane. Coming home and making chips from scratch.

The night that we jumped into the fountains in Trafalgar Square, and dried our bottoms under the hand-dryers in the station toilets at Charing Cross. The roadtrip to Birmingham (with Charles), doing merch for the Antlers and horsing around, the night with the cookies, the house est. in 1922 (thankfully we have no photographs of this night…) and finally, the day we tried on wedding dresses in the basement of a charity shop. Sigh.

I love this girl ♥
