My week in photographs, according to my phone

August 24, 2012

Happy Friday! Gee whizz I’m sleepy. This week seems to have flown by, and I’m about ready to crawl under my desk and fall asleep now. So looking forward to getting home, crossing jobs off my to-do-list, and curling up on the sofa with Trout & Rasputin to catch up on this weeks Great British Bake Off!

I can’t quite believe that it’s Friday already – I have so many things to look forward to over this long weekend, and I can’t really take it all in. Last night Trout and I went to see Greenday at Shepherds Bush and it was just amazing. I’ve been waiting to see this band since I was 14, and have so many different memories connected to their music. They are one of my favourite bands, and were so good live. I remember the first time I ever heard them – sitting in an ex-boyfriend’s bedroom listening to Dookie and just falling in love with the record. I’m pretty sure that the copy I have at home is his, sorry! Sitting in the common room at college in Lewes with Trout while he played me the EP of his band, and thinking how much they sounded like Greenday (they didn’t really, but my 16 year-old brain thought so). Playing Kerplunk on repeat during the long journey to & from University in Worthing.

This week I blogged about Round Two of the brilliant UK Vegan Food Swap, a lovely evening of jerk (vegan) chicken and music, made plans for my birthday, received so many exciting parcels which I won’t open until Sunday and became even more excited about America!

Here’s my week, according to the photographs on my phone:

1. and 2. Cereal, fruit & peanut butter = perfect breakfast! With a side of curly wurly cat.
3. and 4. Mid-week dinner of salad, with pitta bread and houmous.
5. and 6. Chocolate almond fudge Clif bar – YUM!
7. and 8. Rasputin & Greenday.
9. and 10. Sharing a burrito & tortilla chips with Trout on the way home. Amazing guac!
11. and 12. There’s a cat hiding under there somewhere. And a birthday present arrived, eek!
13. and 14. Trout working super hard organising our America Roadtrip (♥♥♥), and me & Ras are Paw Pals.

Tomorrow morning Laia arrives in Brighton (!!!) and I literally cannot wait to meet her at the station. Then in the evening my parents, my Grandad, my sister and her fiancee are coming over and we are going out for thai food. On Sunday I have booked a table at my favourite pub for a roast – the perfect way to celebrate my birthday, I think! I can’t wait to see everyone’s faces and wake up on Sunday morning with my favourite people, and spend the day with them. I don’t have any plans for Bank Holiday Monday; probably just hanging out with Laia & drinking coffee, mostly!

I hope that you’ve all had a lovely week! What are your plans for the long weekend? I’m hoping for sunshine!
