America, so far: Our Final Night

September 21, 2012

It’s our last night in America – I can’t believe it! We are currently surrounded by bags, cases, paper grocery bags, piles of clothes… I swear the staff thought we were moving into the hotel this evening when we checked in – and we’re only staying for ten hours! This is the culmination of three weeks of travelling, put together with us going a little wild in Whole Foods and Trader Joes this evening. You can’t even see the fridge, which is currently stuffed with bags of Daiya…!

I have fallen a little bit in love with America – especially certain parts (hello San Francisco), and even though I will always love England (especially Brighton, my soulmate city ♥) I am surprised at how much I have grown to love the differences between our two countries. It’s so easy to be vegan in California and New York City. They have awesome tv shows (A&E is the greatest channel EVER). The weather has been beautiful.

We had our final supper at Mohawk Bend, a real nice restaurant which specialises in beer and serves 70+ varieties. After dinner we headed to WF and TJ, stocked up on all of our favourite things, and brought back two tubs of ice-cream to scoff in bed back at the hotel (we couldn’t agree on a flavour, so went with both and ate as much as we could!). Tomorrow morning we drop The ‘Stang (our rental car) back, head to the airport and begin our journey back to Brighton – I’m not really looking forward to this part, as we will check-in to the airport around 9am and arrive home at around 2pm GMT on Saturday – ugh! I am so excited to collect and cuddle up to whiskerface on Sunday, though ♥

p.s. I will be blogging the rest of our photographs once I get home – and writing about my favourite food places :)

You are so awesome! I don’t think I have read through a single thing
like that before. So good to discover someone with unique thoughts on this subject matter.

Seriously.. thank you for starting this up. This site is
one thing that is needed on the web, someone with some originality!
