On the first day of Christmas

December 1, 2012

Happy 1st December!

It’s finally here – let the countdown commence! Today me, Trout and a friend trooped off to Calais for the day to stock up on lots of lovely wine for the festive period and beyond. It was touch-and-go for a minute at 6am this morning, following a heavy night last night celebrating a surprise birthday party which I helped organise, and having only 4 hours sleep… but thankfully I managed to pull it together in time, and the crossing was fine! I’m absolutely exhausted now, though – so let’s crack on with the first day of our Christmas Challenge, before I fall asleep in my chinese takeaway…

There is one clear winner here – Jingle all the Way!
A Christmas movie featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger – what could be better?!

“I’m not a pervert! I just need a Turbo-Man doll!”

There was some close competition with these festive films, though:

I love Jingle All The Way and haven’t seen it nearly enough times. That’s definitely a goal for this month.

Home Alone- the original one. Such a classic Christmas movie. I’ve seen it sooo many times. Love Actually has also become a bit of a fave of mine, and I watched it last week to kickstart my festive mood. I’ve not seen your first two picks so might have to remedy that this holiday.

I love Elf but my fave has to be Scrooged with Bill Murray!

I loooove Miracle on 34th Street but we watch Elf & Home Alone every year too. My other favourites are Love Actually, The Holiday & Die Hard and this year we’re going to a midnight screening of Gremlins at the new Duke of Yorks cinema.
