Baking Brownies

Last Saturday I was browsing through my ‘Things to Make’ folder – which, by the way, is becoming increasingly more ridiculous in length – for some inspiration. We were meeting a friend for birthday cocktails, he has a super sweet tooth, and I know how much he loves chocolatey-peanuty-buttery things. Chocolate-peanut-butter-pretzel-brownies it was, then!

They were super simple to make, too. I used this chocolate brownie recipe, without the chocolate chips or hazelnuts, and once the brownies had completely cooled I finished them with plenty of peanut butter icing, and decorated with broken pretzels. And then I ‘tested’ far too many pieces for someone that was meeting their parents for Mexican food in a couple of hours.

I hope your week’s going well! I’m a busy bee, as per usual, I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already. Not that I’m complaining though – it means it’s almost Valentine’s Day, YAY! If you’ve been reading my blog for a while you might have gathered that I lurve this day. Everything is heart-shaped, there is romance in the air, there are flowers everywhere. And Trout hasn’t let me down, yet – there was 2012, US Office themed, then there was 2013, Breaking Bad themed, so what will it be this year…. *pressure* ;)

    Those look so good!! I also love Valentine’s day but I have to work and go to class and the Actor has a show so we won’t really be doing anything for it.

    These look yum! How did you make the peanut butter icing? Definitely going to make these when the next occasion calls for it!

      It’s a recipe from Ms. Cupcake’s book, made with butter, Trek, icing sugar and peanut butter. I could eat it by the bowlful!
