Building up to Christmas Day

December 20, 2014

It’s the last weekend before Christmas, are you prepared? For possibly the first Christmas in years, I think I’ve actually bought all of my presents ahead of time! Now there’s just the task of wrapping them all… I’m sure I’ll have a Christmas Eve panic where I think I haven’t bought enough for everyone and that I should go out and buy 100 more gifts, just in case. Do you ever get that?

Brighton was not actually as insane as I thought it would be today. In fact it seemed like a pretty ordinary Saturday for the city. I popped in to get a few more bits + pieces, and a slice of pizza from Infinity, and avoided the mall completely, instead opting for the independent shops. A much nicer experience, let me tell you. Also, if you’re feeling stressed go for a wander – it might seem like a waste of time when your brain is going crazy, but it will clear your head. Especially when you have soya flat white in your hand from the best coffee shop in the world ;)

I’m so excited to spend Christmas Day with my family this year! I was looking back over previous Christmases and getting that excited feeling in my belly. Here are 2012 and 2013 – for some reason I never documented 2011?! Oh well.

I’ve just popped home to drop off the gifts that I bought and to hide them away, before heading out for an afternoon of DJs playing records from the 30s and then a Merry Metal Christmas party at a friends house. This has become a brilliant annual tradition, where we listen to Christmas songs covered by metal bands. Could there be a better theme for a Christmas party?! Have a great weekend, everyone!
