White Stuff Tea Party

February 20, 2015

On Wednesday I was kindly invited to a tea party at White Stuff to take a look at their new collection and fall in love with the little details and try on some of my favourite pieces. I had seen quite a few bits and bobs from them over the past few years – a friend’s dress, a beautiful window display, Trout’s new blazer – but never actually gotten around to popping in myself. I don’t know why really, but I’m glad I’ve gone in now because there are so many treasures to be found! Let’s start with the tea party though, shall we? They made me my very own vegan plate, including an amazing chocolate cake, scones, and a selection of canapés including caramelised onion topped bread, and falafel and hummus. The prosecco wasn’t too shabby, either ;) ^^I really do.^^ Anyway, onto the clothes. As I’ve mentioned before, one of my resolutions for 2015 is to get ethical with my clothing. When I was invited to the event I mentioned this and they were happy to send through some information for me. I got chatting one of the girls at the event and realised just how lovely White Stuff are; their material sourcing and manufacturing practice is super ethical, and they support children in India by putting them through school. How amazing is that! Every store also supports their own local charities, too. Flippin’ brilliant I say, and it meant that I could browse away knowing it was all good. You can find out more about their ethical practices on their Caring White Stuff page. The Tea Ceremony collection is inspired by 1920’s Japan, and you can definitely see the beautiful attention to detail that the designers have. I love the stitching and colour palette. You can find a sneak peek at the collection here. ^^Can’t stop thinking about this top. They only had a size 10 so it was a little big, but I think I’ll pop back and see if they have an 8 in stock soon.^^ ^^Birds and pockets! Double whammy.^^ ^^Buttons at the back! I absolutely love this detail. Thank you to Sophie for the excellent demonstrating skills ;)^^ ^^Pants!^^ ^^Socks!^^ ^^And the menswear was just as good. I love the labels and the colour palette in the current collection is brilliant – lots of mustard.^^ Definitely go and check out White Stuff if you haven’t already – loads of us at the event hadn’t been in before, and some hadn’t even heard about the brand, so I think it’s time to spread the word. It’s an ethical-practice-and dangerously-beautiful two thumbs up from me.

I don’t think I’ve ever been to a White Stuff shop. I guess my mind tricked me into believing they actually only sold white stuff! So thanks for clearing that up for me with this post haha

I’ll definitely pop in next time I see one! Love the fact they’re an ethical brand :)
